Background story
My personal journey
Born in 1996, in Maracaibo, Venezuela, I moved early to Colombia. Design has always been my passion and hobby since my early childhood. I started using the Adobe Suite when I was 13 years old, making funny edits of my friends in Photoshop and doing logos for imaginary brands in Illustrator. I loved watching videos and reading design books. When I was in high school, I got a scholarship to study either journalism or engineering. I'm a talkative person, but journalism wasn't my thing, so I chose engineering.
When I was 18, I started to work on Fiverr and Upwork (Elance in those years) as a graphic designer. Thanks to that, I earned real professional experience before having a degree. Five years later, at the age of 23, I already made the transition to UX/UI Design, had a Bachelor's and a Master's degree, and had a portfolio with thousands of projects for +100 clients in more than 50 countries. I found my way to UX when I was finishing my Master and I found I needed a career that could use my problem-solving skills in a more creative way.
Who am I when I'm not designing?
A couple things about me
I have a BS degree in Industrial Engineering, a MASc degree in Supply Chain Management, and deep knowledge in Graphic Design and UX/UI Design. But, "who is Daniel when he's not designing?".
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, playing guitar, watching movies, playing video games, football, paintball, and I was a motorcycle enthusiast but the pandemic changed my lifestyle to a more serene one. I also loved to travel a lot and that suddenly changed, now I feel comfortable living in my house and working on some personal projects when I'm not working. I also enjoy a lot reading about new design and technology trends.
And... I guess this is pretty much it, I'm open with my personal life, but I'm not sure I can make a summary without spending less than one million words.
